I’m spending £600 on beauty products trying to be an influencer and cumming at £1.5k parties despite being a student

A FASHION student hoping to become an influencer has revealed how her expenses often leave her with just £25 in the bank at the end of the month.

Zanif and her husband Mario appear in Channel 4’s Secret Spenders, where experts reveal how they waste £7,000 a year.

The Cariff-based couple have a joint income of £2,500 a month but have felt the pressure of Zanif’s lavish spending.

Speaking on the show, Mario said: “In this marriage, I’m the tightest. I don’t like spending too much.

“As for the money [with Zanif] I don’t think there is a limit”.

When Zanif meets presenter Anita Rani, she reveals that she likes to indulge in the luxury of brands, perfumes, jewelry and vacations.

Their aisle alone is filled with around £2,000 worth of designer trainers, and Zanif admits he’s spent £500 or £600 on beauty products to show his 8,000 Instagram followers.

He admits: “I shudder over price tags and that’s why I don’t look at statements.”

Although the part-time receptionist has a huge product offering for Instagram, she has yet to make any money on the social media site.

Zanif, who is studying fashion, also turns out ‘not your typical student’ after throwing a lavish £1,500 birthday party for Mario’s 25th birthday.

This included a hot tub in the living room and a bunch of expensive freebies.

Mario, who studies logistics and works full-time in telecommunications, says: “The money went out the window, I was living in the country of the Zanif”.

Zanif pleads for her madness saying, “Her dress sense is misaligned. For me, it’s like having to match my fly, we are a brand.

The shopping doesn’t stop there, as the couple also shell out £240 a month to eat out, which Zanif justifies by saying: “I don’t feel like I wouldn’t buy all these things, I just need to make more money out of it.”

However, the budding influencer gets a dose of reality when the expert reveals the couple could save £7,416 a year if they stopped wasting money.

This was made up of £2,028 off council tax because they are students. £768 from upgrading to mobile-only sim deals and £120 from a student gym discount.

If they reduced meals away from home, they would save £1,440 if they went from £240 to £120 a month.

They would also save £2,400 if Zanif cut her monthly clothes bill from £400 to £200 and £660 if Zanif’s beauty products went from £110 to £55 a month.

The couple are shocked at the difference and say they want to start saving for a house.

Zanif says, “I see things in a slightly different way. For me, having a mortgage is more rewarding than having an entire wardrobe that I don’t wear.

“Honestly, I’m so excited because I want to start saving and budgeting. I’m excited about this trip.”
