IUAD takes up the challenge

Italy and fashion are inextricably linked by a double thread: one almost automatically evokes the other. Our country, considered one of the cradles of this great sector, is approached all over the world with the names of the most famous designers of all time. Many of them have been and still are a source of inspiration for young people who cultivate a passion for fashion and who wish to make it their future. Having clear ideas is a good start, but everything works better when you know how to bring them to life. And it is precisely here that the role of specialized academies such as IUAD becomes more distinct, an institute aimed at training and providing all the knowledge necessary to undertake the journey in this world.

The IUAD (Institute of Universal Art and Design) has been dedicated for more than fifty years to360 degree education and training in the fashion and accessories sector. The Academy, with offices in Naples and Milan, is recognized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research among AFAM institutions for the 1st level academic course in fashion design, design of interior and architecture, communication design and for level II academic degrees in Prop Design and Art Direction and Writing. These courses, given by a highly qualified teaching staff, aim to provide young people with the theoretical and practical skills required by the market.

IUAD takes up the challenge

Among the Level I courses, students have the opportunity to choose from the addresses of fashion drawing and fashion business and management. The first wants to give the right preparation to young designers so that they are finally ready to follow the whole path of the collection: from styling to modeling until the creation of their own collection completed by photo shoots. The Fashion Design course also allows students to master the management of a fashion brand, the organization of major events and the care of customer relations.

For those who, on the other hand, want to create their own brand or start-up, it is possible to follow the new course in Fashion business and management. The aim of this course is to train students in the proper management of a textile company which allows young people to have a dual professional profile, assimilating on the one hand everything there is to know about design processes and production in the textile industry. , on the other hand, the skills useful for the managerial management of a company in the sector.

The IUAD does not stop only at three-year courses, but also offers the possibility of undertaking a specialized course, carefully chosen on the basis of the strong demand for new figures from the footwear and leather goods sector. In fact, Italy is one of the pillars of the global footwear sector, with 4,800 active companies and a total annual turnover of 14.2 billion euros: it is no coincidence that the search for young people with excellent training in this sector is growing exponentially. In light of this, IUAD has developed the Level II Specialized Course in Accessory Design which aims to form a high-level professional personality capable of managing the design of collections of accessories, shoes and bags, both from a stylistic, technical and production point of view. Young people are invited to study in depth all supply chain processes and product materials using innovative digital technologies (2D and 3D CAD).

To get a taste of the IUAD environment and get to know the laboratories and teachers up close, the institute organizes individual orientations and training days. Open day the head office.
