Jill and Derick are expecting their third child to join their children Israel, seven, and Sam, four.
The couple have been struggling financially since their show Counting On was cancelled.
The Sun previously reported that Derick claimed the family relied on food banks after Jill’s father, Jim Bob, allegedly stole them.
Sisters Jill, Jessa, Jinger and Joy-Anna are suing the City of Springdale, police department employees and others for invasion of privacy, alleging that the release of the police report into the harassment of older brother Josh caused “emotional stress”.
Jill and Jessa came forward as two of the five victims were sexually assaulted at the family home in 2006, unlike Jinger and Joy-Anna.
FINANCIAL STRUGGLE
The case was thrown out before trial, as a judge ruled the sisters failed to prove that the released report caused emotional distress.
In unsealed court documents revealed exclusively by The Sun, Jill’s husband Derick opened up about the financial hardships they endured.
In Derick’s May 25, 2021 deposition, it was revealed: “Due to lack of income, they are receiving boxes of food from neighbors and also receiving food through an on-campus food pantry.
“The fact that the complainant and her husband are experiencing financial difficulties may be relevant to her emotional state.”
The filing included Derick’s deposition, in which he told lawyers, “Our neighbors sometimes bring boxes of food. And I also got food from the campus pantry.”
COMPLAINTS AGAINST JIM BOB
Jill and Derick have been open to not receiving any compensation for their time on Counting On. Representatives for TLC have not responded to the Sun’s request for comment in the past.
People reported that Jim Bob was responsible for the money Counting On made, as they were getting anywhere from $25,000 to $45,000 per episode.
The couple received no money from the show until they left in 2017.
Jill said: ‘That’s when we got a lawyer and finally got some of the money back. It was a process”.

Derick said in a YouTube video, “It probably ended up being a little more than minimum wage. But we managed to recover at least something.”
The show was canceled in 2021 after the family’s eldest son Josh was arrested for child pornography.
